'Mucha' style round mirror for wall hanging, finished in antique gold & ivory colours, the raised resin lady bust sits upon a flat mirrored background and is used for decoration rather than a looking mirror. Classed as the 'right mirror', the lady faces to the left (confusing I know!). size 8" x 10" approx Alphonse Maria Mucha was born in 1860, in the town of Ivancice, Moravia (the present Czech Republic), while in his 20's Mucha produced a flurry of paintings, posters, advertisements, and book illustrations, as well as designs for jewellery, carpets, wallpaper, and theatre sets in what was termed initially the 'Mucha Style' but became known as 'Art Nouveau'. Mucha's works frequently featured beautiful young women in flowing, vaguely neoclassical looking robes, often surrounded by lush flowers which sometimes formed halos behind their heads.
